Hi everyone

And the black and blue cable goes to the service neutral link !!!
In Australia 3 phase color is Red White...
I've been watching Residual Current on youtube (great vids and great bloke btw) and really love watching the more industrial/commercial side of things.
Are there any resources that teach how 3 phase works? Even college syllabuses seem to be very light on 3 phase stuff.
How do people learn this...
Hello everyone, I really hope this isn't an idiot question but boy, I'm out of my depth! I've spent about 3 weeks (not solid mind) trying to work out how to size a generator to power a lathe for a test.
Situation is, I'm buying a house in Wales (UK) with a restored lathe in it. It's 3 phase...

Hello. I bought an old three phase compressor but it has come without a starter switch. Just five cables, two for the pressure switch and three for the three phases.
I have a DOL starter switch, but I don't know how to wire it to make the compressor come on and off with the pressure switch...
Hello all, I recently was asked to quote a three phase motor install within a pallet factory. To be honest, I was somewhat stumped in how to attack it as the sheer size and the control cabinet was gigantic. Although I'm mainly a domestic, commercial spark, this was somewhat out of my league. The...

And I know how to test each phase.

I've never had a job like...

Regarding 3 phase IR tests for initial verification, I'm wondering how people actually do it efficiently.
GN3 says to IR test between all phase permutations, then:
L1+L2+L3 connected together to N
L1+L2+L3 connected together to E
N to E
The OSG further comments that if the group test to earth...
Was testing a EV charge point today and noticed the internal RCD was TP device with only a single phase supply and load in use (L1).
There was 245V either side of the RCD but the test button didn't function.!!
Is it possible the test button is fed from one of the phases that is not used...
Hello, wanting to install a new (old) MCCB in an Dorman Smith Loadline board, found a couple online, however, the client ordering the works is not keen on installing old breakers, so they would rather us connect tails onto the busbar stubs where the breaker would usually be, fashion some kind of...
Hi, I have been asked to fit a 32a isolator ready for an air con unit and picked one up from screwfix. Unfortunately the one I have is a 4 pole, can this still be used with 6mm t&e or do I need to replace it with a 2 pole. If it can be used do I just use terminals L1 & T2
Thanks
I have recently started on a site where there is a 16A 3 phase Atex socket which is supplied by a 16A 3 phase MCB. It was picked up on a recent inspection that it needs an RCD. For the life of me I cannot find a 16A 3 phase RCD. I started to think does it really need an RCD? The socket is only...

For future-proofing...
