Hi guys
I had to quote a job to play around adding a new lighting point and switch yesterday. As I was walking through the house I notices a few metal switches dotted around the place in the extention. I had a look in the cu and noticed that there was no earth for the lighting circuit, I then...
If on a EICR you were to come across lighting with no cpcs. Is this acceptable. Presumably if it's all plastic ad class II products and fittings then maybe it could be but I'm think really it will need cpcs to be run with it. Even at light switch withe tak backbones as in the event of a fault...

I been out today to change a CU and when testing the 10mm water bonding I am getting a reading of 0.25. The stop tap is in the bathroom with all tiles around it, I can't see the bonding clamp so I tested to the nearest pipe.
I noticed that the pipe...

How/ why am i supposed to bond the main water when it comes into the house in plastic. i thought it would be a deviation but ive now been told by a guy who said that the niceic said to bond the plastic pipe as the power supliers recomend it.
I'm curious to hear how people deal with plastic roof lights when they are working on industrial style trapezoidal roofs. Do you barrier them off? Leave them and net below? Board over them?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
