Hi everyone, apologies in advance, it's been a long day and I've not even had my lunch yet, so I'll try and keep this quick!

Hi there
A strange problem has started happening with our Galaxy 16 alarm. When setting it and leaving the house everything seems fine. But when returning home, a couple of seconds after opening the front door the alarm goes off. We enter the pin to stop the alarm and everything's fine.
But is...

Contactum defender version 1.0
Disappointed a lot. Heavy metal fuse cover no way to hold it up when you work on it. Lid closing holes dont align with the threads behind properly, plus the bolts are located in a very very wrong place, no...

If you are going to change it, at least do it properly and not mount it on the old back of the Wylex rewireable board!
This is a 17th Edition CU as well, looks like its been dragged through a skip.
I tried to put the review below on Google Play, but had to reduce the words considerably. I would appreciate experiences/observations regarding this product. Is there a better alternative? Thanks.

Ben, forget your multifunction tester when it comes to RCD's. Use your multi meter, push the RCD button, and check that both poles have opened, and check the type and rating of the RCD. Job done, Regs complied with.
The only truly useful...

Hello all,
Just wanted to share an experience from today and see what others thought on this subject.
I managed to acquire some feedback from someone I provided a quote for yesterday - I asked why they had decided on another service and the answer was because they were £80 and I was £155.

Hi Guys,
I have a dining room with 4 spotlights and a living-room with 6 spotlights. Both are switched seperately with dimmer switches. However, when I try and dim either the lights dim really quickly and go off. I have to try and turn the switch when they are off and turn back on again to try...
I was looking at a job today and ran across the following: 2-year old installation, 100 amp main fuse, Henley block next to the meter, with the main tails in and then out to the house. Along with this are three sets of 16mm SWA coming out of the Henley block (neutral and earth wires not...
I realise that the plumbers forum will be full of this, and justifiably so, but from a skilled trade to another, this is a hard and cold lesson for us all:

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I'm not an electrician, but I'm really in need of one, it seems! I have had a 4KW solar array installed to supply my home. It's ground mounted in the field next to our garden so is quite some distance from the house. The installer has put the inverter...
