Hi
when i try to test an RBCO at the DB it trips as soon as the test probes touch the terminals, this only seems to happen with Bill/MEM RCBOs, it doesnt happen with Merlin or Square D. I'm using a standard Robin RCD tester. Any idea why???
I'm having a debate with myself about this...it can either be a good thing or a bad thing....Who does this? and do you think its worthwhile? I wouldn't dream of doing it for installation jobs like rewires etc as no 2 jobs are the same. But for the likes of a board change and PIR's I'm thinking...

Hi all,

Iv been asked to price a job, to supply a shed, with a couple of sockets and a light.
Iv got to trench some of the lawn and clip and rest, in all a 30m run.
The CU has an RCD main switch, and in the shed im thinking a 2way CU with MCBs for light and power, and put RCD sockets...
I am looking to put together something that will enable me to accurately control the temperature of water inside a container such as an electric slow cooker, at pretty low temperatures 65 - 70 centigrade.
I am looking to buy the components and fit it together myself simply to save money...
