I've been working in Birmingham for a couple of weeks and I am coming across a single neutral cable from the cu to each light point then the line is also a single cable with a earth to each switch then to the lights it must be from the 60s .It does seem to be the norm .
My problem is that...
Hi, a little clarity required please.
I’ve recently been to a property to make an emergency repair to a broken cable ( they drilled through it). I’ve patched the cable for the moment but while I was looking at the bonding I found the CH pipes bonded next to the incomer but not the incomer...

Has anyone come across black PVC twin lighting cable before? Working in a house, probably late 50's/early 60's yesterday and found all the lighting wired in black twin PVC cable. No cpc, solid tinned copper core.

From time to time, I have a need to put a fairly gentle bend into 25mm PVC conduit. Past attempts to do this using nothing but a bending spring (originally bought for 22mm copper pipe) were not successful. I found that I could do the job if I warmed up the conduit with a heat gun, but have never...
Is there such a thing as a pvc conduit bender. I thought they would be a simpler way than just bending it with the knee, plus it is frustratung having

What are the reasons for using PVC singles in say a commercial installation such as a workshop that would use metal trunking/conduit as the containment, why not use twin and earth?
All I've got so far is, 'because that's just what you do', but I'm not sure that's an adequate answer!
Cheers

Hi everyone. Quick question. In which situations would you use LSZH cables over PVC? Fire alarm systems being obvious but any other reasons/regulations of when/where to use? Thanks

No sockets, just lights which are supplied with 2 core flex, Ansell 50w led floods.....linked by PVC conduit, fully enclosed...
