I have quite a bit a cat5e to run through joists under floorboards for ethernet points around the house. Can this run in the same joists as the LV cables or do you make separate holes in the joists for the ELV cables?
Cheers guys.
Morning..
I'm having an ethernet point next to a tv aerial socket. Is it ok to run the cat5e and coax in the same chase. As I understand it I just have to keep LV 50mm away from ELV, so as these are both ELV its ok?
Cheers all.
As title, select the correct settings L-L L-E on left and As on right, am unable to change mode (2Lo 2Hi etc.
Screen comes up with <50v but does nothing else.
Any ideas? Runs continuity and IR fine, not tried RCD
I have been to look at a rewire. The builders have pretty much taken the house apart and I have found the neighbours supply cables hanging above my customers ceiling.
The customers line supply cable comes into the top of the cutout and then another line supply comes out of the top and off to...
Just looking for ideas.
We have got a static caravan but with no electricity available but want to try and run a boiler for heating radiators. Any ideas of how to get power to the boiler which will keep it running for a while. I thought of a 12v 120ah battery connected to 800w inverter to...
I know - needs some explaining: I am improving my old house's garage wiring and need to run on the aluminum ceiling. The ceiling is aluminum as the garage is actually a covered-in carport. Anyway, I am assuming that AC90 armoured cable can be secured to the aluminum ceiling without affecting the...
Hello All,
I'm looking for a little help with a small project. I'm needing to run power from my cabin to my shop. Max distance is 90 feet from home panel to the shop panel. I will be trenching a 1 1/2" conduit from cabin to shop. I only need 50-60 amps to the shop as I will really only be...
I am planning to run a cable from my house consumer unit to a new consumer unit in my garage. I then want to run a medium duty welder from said garage CU. I am thinking:

Hey guys, I have a 2013 genesis coupe and a couple weeks ago the running light on the driver side taillight stopped working. Every other light works including the brake lights which I think use the same led’s. Today I went to go pick up a new assembly but when i plugged it in It still doesn’t...
I want to do a run to a subpanel in a shed - about 50'. 3 circuits: lights, electrical, spilt. I have an isolation panel - can this be retrofitted with a subpanel circuit to branch off to the shed?
So the electrician made a hole in the outside wall to run the cable for the floodlights and in the same hole he threaded through the CAT 6 cable (shielded outdoor cable) for the POE camera.
Is this safe as I always thought you do not run network cable in the same conduit as electrical cables?

I’ve got some exterior lights to install on a sandstone house, it’s quite quaint and old
Has anyone got any ideas for running cables? I don’t really want to use armour or conduit as it’s too industrial looking.
Hi guys,
Just wanted to ask if anyone knew whether its ok to run twin and earth in a purpose built skirting board designed to enclose cables.
I have seen pvc skirting boards and mdf skirting boards that are specially designed to enclose cables. All you'd have to do is a chase on the wall down...
Hi, I’m adding a heat detector into my existing smoke detector system.
