Afternoon all! I’m wanting to buy a standard outdoor security light with a sensor for a garage wall… there’s a couple of sockets in the garage so I’m just wondering what would be needed to make the light able to be plugged in? From what I can gather; a 0.75mm flex cable about 3 meters long, 3 or...

An old halogen light has been on the side of my house for a long time and i want to replace it with a brand new LED PIR light, but i don't know if it's possible. The old light was dead, so i've just taken it down (which was annoying to do) but i was wondering if i could put a new one up or not...
Ran a security light off a fluresent light in kitchen.
Used 4 port supply push in wire connecter.
Earth and neutral wires connected inline to existing terminal blocks.
When I turn "OFF" bathroom fluresent light after use, the security light turns on.
What's causing this please?
Thanks!!
I have a four camera wired system.
I fancy adding a 5th camera.
I have an idea that someone may have invented a splitter box that could rotate from one camera to another say every 30 seconds - so that you can cover 2 areas for the price of one channel on the recorder.
any other ideas would be...

Im looking at adding this light with Flex cable of a run no more than 10 meters on a 3 AMP 3 pin plug.
I would have thought that 1.5mm flex cable will be over kill for this light due to the 1.5mm flex being up to 15 amps in current...

Good afternoon! My family has a vacation house in the UK, but now due to the pandemic, we cannot get there. I am thinking about installing a professional security system which will be able to provide all the information about our house remotely. I need easy control because this house is my...
We just moved to a new house and there are few projects I'd like to do.
There are 5 external PIR security lights, 3 at the back and 2 at the front, neither of them have override swiches they are all wired directly to the ring up in the loft consequently when we're out in the garden we need to...
Hi all, I just wanted peoples views on security cameras that don’t need Wifi, it is for someone who lives in a remote area and has no internet connection at all. They are struggling to find a security system for the farm that doesn’t need an internet connection, thanks all.
I am making a security door system with reed type magnet switch. I have tried it on my desk and it works. I can set the time to stay on for several minutes. I was wanting one which would stay on even if they closed the door back quickly. This does that. My questions are: Do I need a stepping 12...
Hello all, my first post here and I'm looking for some advice.
We recently moved house and the external garage has a couple of security lights on it. One of them works the other didn't. As they were quite old and the screws seized I was having trouble replacing the bulb (and sourcing a bulb) so...
Just a heads up on the above firm. I bought a CFEAPULLkit from them, a disabled toilet alarm. The item did not function correctly. I contacted the makers and they said it sounds faulty so get it replaced. Contacted Acorn F&S who said I would have to return it at my own cost. There was no return...
Hi all,
hope everyone is ok.
I have just been trying to make up a little External lighting loom for my gazebo. I have 4 10w ECOleds which connect to the cable via a “T” cable connector. All wired up correctly but when plugged into my outside RCD Socket it trips it instantly.
Before I made...
I have a set of security lights round the house, all supplied directly from the consumer unit although the circuit was modified recently to allow one to have its own on/off switch added.
The led light on this switched unit has failed and was replaced by another, and on switching the circuit on...
My 92' Firebird that I just acquired will not start. I bypassed VATS security
with resistors so the security light now shuts off. I replaced my positive
battery lead that was shot and the only thing that happens when I turn the
key is the temp gauge fluttering. The relay only has 0.5 constant...
