Hi i am doing some college home work (which i am fine with) its to do with the sequence of tests and i have been looking in guidance note 3 and in 2.7.4 is the sequence of tests but can i ask who does "f" 'insulation resistance of non conducting walls and floors' i ave never heard of this before...
Can anybody tell me the sequence of testing that's stated in BS7671? At college I've been taught CRIPES, which is:
Continuity
Ring final continuity
Insulation resistance
Polarity
Earth loop impedance
(functional) Switching
Why are these carried out in this specific order?
Hi guys, as the title suggests just trying to get my head round three phase sequence testing, if I understand it correctly this is confirm that the three phases are in sequence.....obviously :)
Now as I understand it this is obviously a live test and a three test leads are connected to L1 L2 L3...
I know control panel circuit diagrams/design has to be constructed to all relevant regulation and laws applicable to the country of use,
Is it possible for some of the member her to post basic control circuit using just relay/timer hardwired circuit to perform basic control function.
So other...
Has anyone come across a phase sequence fault when switching on a voltage optimiser for the first time. The system is a cheap chinese one I think with terrible instructions.
Can a voltage optimiser know if your input wiring is black, grey, brown instead of Br, Bl, Gr? I ask because we don't...
done c & g 2330 level 2 & 3 and 2382. i wanna do 2391 or the new 1 (whatever that is) but have little practical experience, im not a stupid person but i dont see myself as qualified yet. do think i will know enough to pass if i read gn3 for a couple of months before i book up? real reason for...
Hi Chaps
Why on my cert software does the self check facility always bring up 'verification of phase sequence - applicable to most installations'. Surely its only applicable to multi phase installations, not a standard single phase domestic installation ?
Hi All,
Wondered if there is anybody out there that could give me some advice on 'What order to carry out a re-wire'?
I am Part P registered and have been running my own Buisness for about 18 months and can carry out most task in a reasonable time frame and order. One thing that concerns me is...

I have a garage install protected by a 30mA rcd and a 32A breaker at main DB in dwelling, I then have a new CU in garage which also has a 30mA rcd protecting sockets and lights.
When I do the RCD test I am getting bad results. When I do the 1 x the RCD in the garage CU is not tripping but the...

Hi, i have a fault finding test soon and need some advice on the sequence of tests to carry out. What i have got so far:-
1st step is to locate the faulty circuit and the points in the circuit.
2nd unplug items from circuit and test mcb.
3rd visual inspection, damage etc.
4th seek permission...
To protect equipment eg motors, generators, against phase-phase fault, one uses a Negative Phase Sequence Relay. Appreciate if anyone can explain the working principle of the relay. Is it similar to normal over-current IDMT relay?
Evening all, Have got the above mentioned multi-function tester, have had it for a year or so but never got round to setting up the bluetooth feature. Is it any good and does it actually save time? Also does anyone know if the software is compatible with the NIC forms?
Thanks,
Rob
I'm about to do a rewire on an old lighting circuit. I'll have to remove and replace some wiring but not all, thing is, up till now all the circuits I've worked have followed a nice neat radial pattern, but this one is split into 2 or more sections, ie; the line from the cu is split at a jb to...
