I am wiring 3 3 phase motors, 1.1 KW each via 3 STOP/START manual starters. If one starter locks out for any reason, the others also need to close down simultaneously.
I initially thought that I would have to have a relay in each starter connected in series but I've realised that won't achieve...
I was in discussion with electrician fitting some new electricsand he noted that there was a spur off to an external garage from the CU. Therewas an existing RCD fitted at both ends (in the CU and garage via 10m shieldedcable), which he said was not allowed- but could not offer an explanation as...

I know that testers have been done to death, but I'm about to buy a new MFT and have set my sights on the Megger 1730 as one which should last me a long time. Does anyone have any bad experiences of this tester or can give me any reason I should really avoid it and look elsewhere?
Hi there,
my local solar installer tells me that I should not have more than 3 strings connected in parallel for my 24v battery bank.... is this correct?
what could be the problem if I have series of 2 batteries x 6 strings in parallel?
thanks.
Anyone got a spare AC plug for a SMA HF series inverter? We had one missing today, SMA are saying 4 days, Segen are not saying much. With the looming deadline and chaos in every direction i'd rather get it done in the next few days if possible. I'll pay postage :-)
I know there is absolutely no...

I was having a chat with my electrical boss today about this and that and we discussed wiring a radial in a garden supplying various things like a greenhouse and a garden shed.
He was of the opinion that things like greenhouses should be TT'd with an earth spike and RCD protected.
The thing is...
Hi Troops,
not so much an electrical issue as an electronics one, just realised that I've dropped a hairy one with making some crimbo led display lights (for me, for home). LED driver I got isn't up to the job, and my brain has ceased to function (mixture of cider and soldering fumes).... 10...
