I have a few questions about a couple of breaker sizes needed due to current draw and diversity.
In place already is as usual;
A main service fuse (100A)
25mm P&N tails to meter
25mm P&N tails from meter to CU
12 way CU split load
What has been done is a garage conversion to kitchen...
Hey guys, I'm currently working in a stupid building where everything is at 7 degrees, not a straight span for more than 5m. we have had to cut all our trunking/tray/lighting trunking to match the curve of the building. The annoying thing was figuring out how much to take out to get the 7...
Just running thro some design calcs for minimum cpc size and im getting some unrealistic readings. Example 1.5mm c.s.a live and 4.mm cpc on a lighting circuit?? circuit is Zdb = 0.083
Circuit 1L1
Assuming we can use 1.5mm cpc
R1 + R2 = (12.10 + 12.10) x 1.2 x 3.57 / 1000 = 0.10ohms...
Hi all I was just wondering if anyone know s of a product that allows me to measure small cable sizes approx 50mm to 0.75mm I already own a micrometer and I know I could fill up my toolkit with loads of cuttings of cable.but to be honest it's not not really a viable option the reason I am asking...
I'm hoping a few of the older members might remember this. I need to know what the standard wall thickness used to be for the very old type threaded steel conduit (20 and 25mm equivalents). I'm guessing the diameter and wall thickness was in imperial sizes so I also need to know what the...

Hi,
Could someone please advise me on what size (diameter?) of heat shrink is best to go over the red, blue and yellow insulated crimps for use when extending 1, 1.5, 2.5 & 6mm T&E? Also what size heatshrink would you put over the lot to cover the 3 staggered crimps, inner cables and...

Hi everyone.
I represent a company who manufacture and distribute drilling and trade solutions which are particularly popular with electricians. I'll not name them so as not to advertise on here.:smiley2:

Morning guys.....
Looking for some help.....
Quoting for a job on a garage roof. Couple looking for a 4kpw system.
However our usual panels are just slightly too wide....1082 by 1575.
We need to find a panel no bigger than 980 by 1575.
Any ideas...
Cheers
I am installing some metal clad surface mounted sockets in a garage for the first time.
Do I need to earth the box to the earth terminal with a separate cable and also would i use the same CPC size as the circuit cable.
Thanks
Evening all,
Currently studying Electrical, quick question.
Is there a page in the onsite guide which tells you the minimum size per breakers ??
Thanks in advance
Fellas
Im just writing up the 5 flats I inspected last week, all the service heads/fuses are new to within 3 years, the cut out fuses are all 100A and tails all 16mm, I know discretion is sometimes needed in this area, on some flats the Max demand reaches 90-100A whilst in others 65-75A, would...
Do not know if this has been done before but i find it useful as am always forgetting.
1.0mm cable has 1.0mm CPC
1.5mm cable has 1.0mm CPC
2.5mm cable has 1.5mm CPC
4.0mm cable has 1.5mm CPC
6.0mm cable has 2.5mm CPC
10.0mm cable has 4.0mm CPC
16.0mm cable has 6.0mm CPC
Is the main reason for having proportional sized cpcs for cables to ensure incase of fault they dont over heat and burn. Say using a 1mm earth for a 25mm sub main in a hyperthetical fault would overheat very quickly? Also "hyperthetically" if you were to use the earth in the neutral terminal...
