I have come across some spot lights today which are installed in a bathroom. There is a problem when turning them on. They take approximately 30 seconds to come on, but when they do come on, they are absolutely fine. Does anyone have any ideas....

Hi all, I have spotlights in my bathroom and the other days they stopped working. They didn't trip the fuse. I have tested the switch and thats OK, I was advised to check the bulbs and they're fine. Have also tested between the switch and the spotlight outlets and there is a physical connection...

The light uses "reflective" bulbs, is mounted in their porch ceiling, and is about 8" tall. It is held in place by clips which spring out when the unit is pushed in.

The spotlights in my bathroom both have dodgy connections. They go off and I have to jiggle the bulbs to get them to come on.
So the spotlight fittings are obviously not great. The reflectors and lenses are fine, but it's just the crappy plasticy sockets that don't make good connection...
in the building regs is there anything that states the maximum height of a spot light as the arcutect on a build has stated that i have to put a spotlight at 6 meters heigh
now surely for mantanance this is not allowed

I have been asked to provide some sort of spot/beam light within a church, that will pick out a cross on the alter from about 15m away. (the effect they are looking is with church in darkness the cross would be illuminated on its own and standout.
