Hi guys.
Who knows where i can get a simple explanation of these devices and how to use them. Yes i have looked at the big green book [ sec 443 ] and i am struggling.
Reg 443.2.1 says that if no overhead lines supply an installation then no additional protection [S.P.D.] is needed as long as...

2/.Also is it correct that if a lightening protection system is in place you need both type 1 and type 2 surge protection ?
Just interested where I could hire/buy a surge monitor/recorder, A friend of mine may be having supply voltage fluctuations (see my other post in tell us your faults.) Any help or advice, or suggestions. Thanks.
Hello chaps,

I am rewiring a church...

Cheers
Hello, I would be grateful if anyone could check my answers for those two questions and see if it's correct or not?
State the

I just bought a surge protector mini extention cable to keep with my laptop. It comes with a moulded 2 meter cable, standard UK plug on the end of it, and on the bottom of the unit, the words: NON REWIREABLE...
Spent hours today tracing a NE fault (IR=0.29Mohms) on ring main.
Unplugged everything I could and then split the ring down. Eventually narrowed it down to three double sockets which seem to be on a spur. Different colours at start and end of spur so no doubt a jb under the floor somewhere...
