I’m hoping someone with more experience of central heating systems can help with this problem, as I’m sure it must be a common situation.
A plumber has replaced a system boiler, which heats the central heating and also a hot water cylinder. The system comprises a programmer, pump, valve...

Just got myself a Megger 1552 and it all looks great apart from the Megger SPL 1000 probe. Its stupidly bulky!
Does anyone know if there is an alternative switched probe that will fit the tester?
Cheers
Hi.
Weird one. I fitted a Georgian style PIR light outside the door of my house.
Got a 3 core flex cable (Line, Neutral and CPC) from board to 13A spur (fused down to 3A), then to light fitting.
When you walk by, it switches on fully bright, but when it switches off (a.k.a no movement) - it's...
Using a fused 80A switch at origin to protrect SWA running to consumer unit on upstairs flat.
I've wired it so that the meter tails enter at the top of the double pole isolator i.e the tails running to the meter are fused rather than the supply to the consumer unit.
The meter installation guy...

I have been asked to install a power supply for approx 2m² of electric underfloor heating. I'm not installing the stuff itself but I am awaiting the delivery of it to find out the rating of it and where I need to be running cable.
I wanted to know if it needs some form of thermostat, or does it...

I've started a job last week in a cricket club and been asked to take over from another sparks who did the first fix. He has since disappeared and no one can contact him, which has proved most unhelpful, namely in figuring out what he had done and ensuring that there are enough...

hi,
Just reading through 'Connections' (ELECSA's magazine).
Found an article saying it was aright to use the green/yellow for a SL in a class II fan if you sleeved it both ends with a brown sleeve.
They cited 514.4.3 which in my book refers to PEN conductors saying it overrides 514.4.2 (thou...
Hi guys,
I have a strange one. I was called to a property recently to an intermittent alarm on a heating fill set (mikrofill EFD). I have fitted many of these in the past with no problems. I contacted the manufacturers who advised me that the fault could be interference on the circuit due to...

Sorry about the quality of the picture. Note the connections outgoing from the teleswitch to the isolator. Can anyone confirm what the two supplies to the isolator from the teleswitch are for (the isolator out serves as the line supply to the heating contactor coil.

Have seen two types of double gang socket outlets, single pole and double pole. Not sure what the difference is. My guess is one is for use on a spur and one for a ring final but would like a definitive answer. Thx
