Need to carry out some testing over a couple of sites using one of these devices. We have hired them in the past, but I can't recall where we got the last one from. We are based in Taunton, Somerset. Does anyone know of a reasonably local firm that could sort us out?
Thanks
Monty
Can anyone give me a wee bit of guidance on what exactly an immersion tank with a thermal cut-out looks like?
Is it a separate piece of equipment from the thermostat fitted onto the tank? Or is the thermostat and cut out housed in the one thing on the tank
Basically, doing (only my second)...
I was totally shocked to find out when registering a solar thermal and a heat pump installation we carried out that no EPC is required, how an earth does that work when they both involve heat loss, yet pv producing electricity requires it? Proof they are trying to kill the pv industry :61:
Just wondered how many solar installers on here actually have a system on their roof at home/work
i will start it off 4 kw on home and 4kw on office roof
sorry for spelling mistake i type to fast lol

What are your thoughts on this. Cable and central heating pipes in same void between ceiling and floorboards between joists, but not particularly close. A layer of bricks interposed to create two separate compartments in the void to reduce thermal effect on cable.
I've noticed that BS7671 allow cables to be installed in thermal insulation, even if it discourages from it.
It even has figures of the derating factor in 523.7.
In Sweden, where I live, the regulations does not allow this. Well, it does not specifically forbid cables in thermal insulation, but...
Hi, I have a Flir Infracam SD Thermal Imaging Camera for sale. This is a really good camera and a nice piece of equipment for the electrician to have.
It is in excellent condition and has a good 120x120 resolution. With this camera you can take pictures, save them and even make reports with the...

Hello guys,
Can I pick your brains on this one. One of my lads has managed to get a thermal imaging tool on demo. I though he was just going to use if for looking at the girl over the road once it is dark, but it turns out to be a good bit of kit for looking at circuits. Its an Irwin tool...
Hi!
I have a 3ph agitation motor Δ/Υ 0,42/0,24Α.
I want to wire it as single phase using a permanent capacitor.
Is there any way to calculate the nominal current for single phase to set the thermal overload relay correctly?

I've been asked to carry out some work in a riser tower of an office. In the riser there are two chimneys (metal, cylinder). The riser is approx five stories high and has a light on each floor. In the riser, the floors are metal grills with a ladder connecting all the floors.
The existing...

When doing cable calcs, particularly the Ci for thermal insulation when calculating It, does the amount of thermal insulation refer to the length of cable that is covered by (any thickness of) insulation, or does it refer to the thickness of the insulation that is applied over (any part of the...
