Please could someone enlighten me on how grouping factors apply to ring final circuits run together, e.g. sharing holes through joists and walls, in a domestic situation?
For one RFC run in 2.5mm T&E under first floor boards (ref method B) the cable rating is 23A.
If you group two RFCs...
Hello everybody, I have been looking at getting some more tickets under the old belt and got an idea into my head that I wondered if a group of us were to get together and book different short (day) courses would we get a discount.....I went in and asked if there would be a better rate like...
I have just installed a new wylex dual rcd board replacing an old memera 2000 single rcd. Whilst wiring in I noticed what was purporting to be a ring main was in fact two radials in the same breaker, no problem I thought, I will split them up, one on each rcd, however, having done that it will...
I'm planning on installing the mechanical side of a PV array before I install the electrical components and I've heard that you can connect the positive and negative leads of each module together to short-circuit each module separately until you string them together. Is this true or would it...

Doing a EICR on a takeaway today....waste of a whole day, within 5 minutes I'd come to the conclusion the place should be shut down, but there's a form to fill in so you have to play the game and gather all the info.
One of the first things I noticed was a sangamo timeswitch in the passage between...

Hi All
Can anyone point me in the right direction in the regs book where it says you can not run AC and DC cables next to each other unless a dividing screen is put in place. I know in my head the cables must be at least 150mm apart, or a screen in place but my boss says they can go together...
I'm slated to finish my lvl 3 at the end of November and am thinking of doing my 2391 before it changes straight after (can probably get a December course/exam)
Is this doable? I'm thinking it possibly is as the final written exams for 2330 are on Inspection, Testing and Commissioning then...
Hi all, any of you out there working self-employed care to comment on this? I've been doing occasional work with a plumber. He takes on bathroom renovations and gets me in for a few days for the electrical bits. Up until now I have invoiced the homeowner directly, so in effect the only business...

Being doing a PIR today and came across this beauty - can somebody help me with its model/age etc?
I particularly liked the fact that there wasn't an earth bar and the earths had been twisted together, outside the CU and pushed into a choc block! Its a TNS system without an earth too, plus a...

Hi
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but can anyone help me with the following connundrum.
Need to be able to run a 230v spur and some cat 5 in surface trunking. Now clearly they can't go in the same run but are there any "nice" looking ones around with the ability to carry the 2 cables...

Hi,
I need to complete the wiring on a 2 boiler system with several heating zones, UFH, secondary return loop etc. Each circuit has a 2 port motorised valve controlled by timers/ prog room stats and the relay side of these valves all return back to fire the boiler once opened. I have wired it...
2 final circuits (wired in singles) from, 2 different sub boards, from 2 different boards from same origin in the same trunking and conduit?
