Hi everyone
I installed a BFT bollard about 3 years ago. It's been a very reliable piece of equipment however today it has started to trip the rcd when ever it returns to its extended position.
It allows me to switch the rcd back on, it won't trip until the bollard is activated goes down...
Hi All,
I am new here.
I searched the forum regarding this issue and most professional advice was that the heating element should be at fault.
I am a DIY person and I would not have a problem replacing it myself, only that a new heating element costs £45 on Zanussi.co.uk and I would not want...
6 year old Neff combi Oven/Microwave trips the Schneider 30mA EZ9R33263 RCD on our distribution board when we try to use the convection oven but runs the microwave fine, even on MAX setting.
One of us (not me) slightly nuked one of those part-baked baguettes using the microwave but hardly any...
Hello,
DIY requesting help with diagnosing problem
My mother's storage heater has developed a fault after turning it back on for winter.
It trips the Consumer unit rcd when power switched on.
Initially I thought most likely an issue with an element. I removed all 3 elements and tested...
Hi. I’ve recently had installed a manifold (including zone valve and pump) for the newly installed Wet UFH in my extension.
The system is split into three zones 1) Hot Water 2) Extension UFH 3) The rest of the house which is the original central heating system.
All work fine when switched on...
Hi
First post so apologies if this is in the wrong place,
My 2 year old Beko dryer has started to trip the RCD the moment you switch it on!
I did a little searching and found that this is generally a sign that the interference suppressor is faulty, i duly followed the online instructions and...
TT system, Zs on socket circuit is 77.2 down a good bit after I added a second earth rod.
When I short neutral to earth RCD doesn't trip.
Can anyone help me out and explain please.
Hi all,
Just powered up 6 new led downlights and RCD is tripping. All wiring disconnected and checked, no faults? Tried light on a separate supply and still trips RCD...very strange. Is the led (integrated but 240v) causing a surge and/ or a lag?
Hi all, i'm a home owner just looking for some advice.
Over Christmas the RCD on a split panel fuse box kept tripping. We narrowed this down to the master bathroom underfloor heating. The buildout for the loft including the master bathroom is about two years old, the UFH is under tiles. I think...
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted a little advise as my dishwasher is tripping my rcd only when its first turned on. When I reset the RCD it doesn't trip again and the dishwasher does its cycle. It only ever trips in the very beginning (30 secs or so) of starting the dishwasher.
The dishwasher is...
Hi all,
hope everyone is ok.
I have just been trying to make up a little External lighting loom for my gazebo. I have 4 10w ECOleds which connect to the cable via a “T” cable connector. All wired up correctly but when plugged into my outside RCD Socket it trips it instantly.
Before I made...
Hi
Every few weeks in the last 6 months the RCD has been tripping in my house. I narrowed it down to the kitchen because the RCD wouldn't reset if all sockets in the kitchen were on. If I turned them all off I could reset it, and if I slowly turned each socket back on one-by-one everything...
Hi all,
Quick question I have a bio tank pump that had been working fine up until today, it tripped the main rcd out. If i isolate the bio tank as it has its own radial I can reset the RCD. I disconnected the pump and still the same I disconnected the industrial connector and had the bare wires...
I have fitted underfloor heating, using a WarmUp Wifi thermostat.
When i turn it on, the RCD trips after 5 seconds on initial turn on.
I have measured the following;
Live - Neutral - 39 Ohm (expected for size of mats)
Neutral - GND - >1M
Live - GND - ~150k
Now the L-G resistance of 150k seems...
hi I have a customer with an American Fridge freezer that trips the RCD every couple of hours. The FF is a couple of years old and cost £2000 apparently , so the customer says replacing it is out of the question. Obviously all domestic circuits are to be RCD protected but is there a get out with...
I’ve just installed an infrared heater for my conservatory. It’s plugged into a socket. The heater is happily running on the second heat setting (1600W) but when I turn it up to the high setting (2400W) after a while it trips the breaker.
Any suggestions on how to solve this please?
Model 444440196 I think, Gas and electric. It fails when I turn the lower oven on in any capacity except just fan (fan without heating in any way). It has a fan and grill element and they both trip it. It has an option for just fan alone without heating and that doesn't trip it (least I think...
The double 13 amp socket which we use to power the TV and recorder has tripped the RCD. The only change to the wiring was the installation of the new consumer unit about four years ago.
The house was re-wired about 12 years ago.
We are now using a double socket with an extension lead for the...
Hi,
So my shutter door today started playing up.
Trips the RCD in house and garage but only when closing shutter. Does not have any problems opening.
So here is the head scratcher... once you reset the RCDs it closes fine..!!
Only thing I’ve done last week is paint the shutter, it’s driving...
Hi.. If I could get a little advice, that'd be great. Thanks in advance.
Yesterday I replaced the surface mounted twin socket in my living room with a flush mounted one. This is the third I have done in my house, the rest of the sockets are already flush and these three looked very ugly!
It...
