Hello!
On Friday the RCD tripped and I narrowed it down to the dishwasher which was about half hour into a cycle at the time. After a couple of hours everything was fine and it worked perfectly without tripping it.
Unfortunately it has happened again this evening, about 10 mins into a cycle...
Customer has rcd which keeps tripping in no pattern. Split load board 16th type rcd on sockets cooker shower. Ze and as good, Ir test shows all clear apart from boiler circuit. Disconect cable into boiler wiring centre and all good. Ln+e at 250 v on boiler wiring centre and low reading of...
Thought I would throw my tenant's problem regards Smart Meters (SM) into the mix, in the hope someone could maybe suggest what is going on?
May 2016 - tenants switch to E.org - no problem.
March 2017 - had Liberty 100 PAYG SM (top-Up via App) installed and immediately the RCD/fusebox starts...
Hi all
I have question if i may, i changed the face plates on the neighbours sockets and other kitchen appliances to new chrome ones and it all went well, checked everything no problems now a week later the spur for the under cabinet lights is tripping the RCD, i never had anything to do with...
hi all
need a bit of help!
i have a neff oven that has been working fine for 3 years. top oven all works fine.
bottom oven I can choose from fan grill etc with the dial but as soon as I change temp from 0 within a few seconds it trips the rcd.
I bought a new bottom element and still same...
Just come back from an interesting fault.
Typical RCD tripping randomly. The customer was not using anything in particular, at any time.
Anyway I carried out Insulation Resistance on every circuit, each circuit was above 200M L-E and N-E and the
RCD tests were good.
The place was rewired in...
I have been asked to look into a random tripping RCD.
The installation is quite simple, now only only four circuits,
None RCD protected side has only the lights and a redundant 16A MCB 2.5mm radial for which no accessory could be found, possibly disconnected outside lights but the circuit was...
I have installed a new ring main in a kitchen extension and tested for continuity and insulation resistance before connecting to Consumer Unit. As soon as main switch turned on, even with all the MCB's switched off, the RCD tripped. I removed all the connections to the consumer unit from the new...
I generally enjoy a tripping RCD but not this time!
Yesterday I fitted a spur. I drilled through the wall (at a slight angle) and fitted a single socket the other side of the wall from the socket I spurred from. As simple as that.
I was in a rush so I took a Zs which was 33 and planned to...
Hi, I have just installed a dedicated 32A circuit to feed a motor which according to the data plate is 3.0kW and 16.6 Amps, single phase. It is fed from a 32A MCB via 6mm cable about 22 metres. I have fed it from a MK twin 63 Amp RCD board but this motor circuit is not protected by either RCD...
Went to a job last week, replace an outside light with another customer bought one. Straight swap, few extra holes in the wall for new mounting, job done. Photocell model.
Left the job with a working light. Now, I fitted this in the p***ing down rain, which in itself was a tad silly of me but I...
In case I've missed something- 40a mcb in an old Simplex cu feeding a standalone, plastic cu consisting of a 63a, 30ma rcd as main switch and a 40a mcb. 10mm t&e serving a 9.5 kw Mira shower via a 45a dp switch.
Random tripping of the rcd when the shower is off ( power to the switch internal to...
hi guys,
Hoping for a little advice.
Been working on a property this week and have been having trouble getting zs readings as it trips the rcd on a 17th edition cu.
Property is pme. I've tried testing idividual circuits one by one and completely disconnecting all the others but it still trips...

Hi you beautiful people.
Just been looking at a rather confusing and disgusting job in a two floor ex-council house and wondering if anyone could give me any ideas (apart from walking away from it).
The ring has been tripping the RCD (main switch)
Live and Neutral have both failed IR test to...
Hi all.
When to a job this moring RCD had tripped, narrowed it down to the kitchen sockets, but found that the RCD stayed on for about 20-30 seconds before tipping out. Unplugged everything, so I thought.
Tested the RCD 1x 37ms - 36ms. 5x 11ms - 13ms. Ramp test 19.6 mA.
Then I realised the...
A customer has called to say their RCD is tripping. I was planning to go tomorrow expecting a few N-E tests, identify the circuit, break it down etc.
They called again to say nothing was now working (2 separate RCD's feeding 2 separate boards) and could I come straight away. I only had an hour...
Brother got his oven cleaned yesterday, today it's tripping the RCD (not the breaker) - I'm gonna head over tonight and take a look for him but just thought I'd post here and ask for advice/possible things to look for.
Thanks,
hightower

Afternoon. Did a PIR on a TT installation yesterday with some confusing results.
Ze/RA was recorded as 116Ohms so as expected thereabouts. When Zs was tested it was found to be just 1.01 Ohms and 0.97 Ohms at a several points with just a few reading high as expected. As Zs = Ze+(R1+R2), it...
Hi!
Need to pick some brains as I am truly stumped by this one
call out to a flat with nuisance tripping. On arrival tested circuits and all IR tests between LE were coming up relatively low, between 0.50-0.80 with the exception of ring main coming out as 0.01. There has recently been a leak...
