    USB socket damaged by RCD testing

    Has anyone else had a problem with the new USB sockets fitted to socket outlets? Whilst carrying out an EICR all was fine until I did the 5x RCD test, there was a "pop" from the socket and the USB, which had been working was no longer working.

    How to test if 2A (2000 mA) USB mains plug really is 2A?

    I bought a 5V 2A mains plug from eBay to charge my tablet but I get the feeling it's actually only 500 mA or 1000 mA as my tablet charges slowly. Is there a device I can buy to test USB mains plug amps? Could the USB cable be the issue? Is there a device to test those?
