This morning we had a power failure of our shower. When I took the switch off the wall to check for any issues I noticed a section on the load side had "blown" for want of a better word.
I'm assuming its something to do with overheating but not sure - any advice?

So I moved in to a brand new duplex and the fan in the main bedroom seems to buzz and only seems to buzz of a night time or after the fans on for a little bit.
But also can go all day with out buzzing and bam as soon as were in bed buzzes and it's all random buzzing or humming something like...

I have a block of 9 flats 3 floors ,ground ,1st & 2nd.6" cable tray going from top to bottom x2 .LV and HV.The contracts manager is insisting on the tray stopping between floors and a 4" pipe with a fire collar around it to go through the flooor.Is this correct.

this article says that RCDs are 97% reliable. so presumably the other 3% won't disconnect in time, if at all, in the event of a fault.
