    Downstream gfci not working

    Hello im a DIYer in New Jersey. I ran a new circuit and it has light anda 15a receptacle that works properly then runs to a gfci that doesnt work. Then runs to an 15a receptacle in my ched which does work. Why would the gfci not have power but the outlet after it does? Thanks for your help Chaz
