1.5mm for grid system radial

1.5mm² cable should be fine for a 16A radial circuit to a socket.
You have taken the correction factors and volt drop into account so yes it is OK.
 
Having done the calculations to establish that 1.5mm is suitable yes you can use it. However most of us wouldn’t calculate each circuit for a domestic job when following the rule of thumb or ‘standard circuits’ in the on-site guide is far quicker: 16/20A radial in 2.5 32A radial in 4mm and 32A ring in 2.5mm

Also a lot of us tend not to use 1.5 or 4mm because it would mean keeping additional drums of cable in stock. Just keeping 1, 2.5 and 6 in stock saves space in the van and is easier to manage the stock.
 
So we went with a mix of 1.5 and 2.5, let me tell you it was a lot easier this way as there was much more space in the box, I just wish the plastering was better
