I have to put 25 led down lights in a garage , customer wants them all on one switch line which will be 100 metres long. I'm going to use 1mm. Should I break them down into two lots of 14 ?

Give more info
What kind of fittings?
Mcb rating(s)?
Volts drop if common driver unit may be an issue if 230v to lampholders still at 100m id be calculating it although you have other hurdles to get over before this

What voltage- If gu10 you must load calc them for the maximum lamp value i.e. 50watt , also a led lamp has an inrush you will be limited to the no' you can switch on at anyone time on the same mcb its to be noted that led lamp will have a DC driver inbuilt so an inductive load with a inrush on power up.

the startup current on LED lamps can be rather high !

id split the lamps on two circuits then wire them back to a single double pole contactor and then switch the contactor with the 100m switchline run.

once you've done your cable calc for the 100m run you will probably find a 1.5mm will be sufficient or a 2.5mm for luck ! lol

I'm with shocking on this one ! No I can't be bothered into going into the workings outs calcs wise, but 2.5, will be good through a contactor, and it will easily fit into the switch too !

The startup current on SOME LED lights can be high. Others are very well behaved. I wouldn't go to the expense of splitting the circuit or adding a contactor without finding out the characteristics of the proposed lights.
