10A light switch used to isolate shower supply

I was doing some work on a propertly a couple of weeks ago and found this to my horror !

Its a 10A metal clad light switch used as a isolation switch for a shower fed via a 30A fuse and the circuit had no RCD protection,

Not sure to be honest the property was empty when i was doing the work there

Did you disconnect the shower supply by any chance from the board?

It was a VOID property so was brought up to current standards

was wondering if it worked but guess the shower had not been used for a while.
Would have thought it would have "blown" almost immediately especuially if they tried to switch it off when under load. Hey ho

so given the new colours.....was this `install` RCD protected....i know its besides the point but......

It had obviously worked for a while judging by the discoloured choccy block...
