10mm to incoming water supply

If there is concrete floor and the first sight of the rising main is behind the kitchen sink the other side of the house how does everyone get around puting in there earth cable? Are we restricted to zones running cable the cable, can it go outside instead of replastering and put it in a mechanical protection around the side of the house? Is this the first point you would bond it behind the sink if it's concrete floor? I have not got alot of experience behind me and would like the knowledge......also concrete floors how would we know if they had Alkathene plastic supply oppose to lead?

Ash_s3 it's a difficult house.....the kitchen is in the extension that is single storey at the back and the ceiling has been lowered level with the top of the window which this sink is under.

There's a new 'wireless' main earth bonding just out in the latest amendment, you just need a wireless router and some 10mm cable.... sorry not helpful !

I was going to suggest up and through loft but beat to it. Cellar? Airbricks?

i think if there is a risk of it being nicked then the steel conduit is the only way

Nick, you must be another who lives in an area where the metal extraction competence is in its infancy
The metal conduit would be a very temporary structure in most areas nowadays never mind the copper cable inside it

These days with everyone out of work, fuel prices, cut backs etc....I think replacing a 10mm earth would kill some people paying for it......maybe safer leaving it out!!!!....put that in the amendments

I dont understand how these gypos make their money, I had a huge industrial 6'' valve, and was offered £4 for it! (30kgs).
How can they make any money driving around all day like meercats burning fuel?

TBH I've worked all across London all my life and have never heard of anyone pinching some 10mm green and yellow!

They tarmac your drive and go down like 2mm, f&£k off then it cracks a week later! £2,000 down the pan!......10mm g&y would be a prime target here.....we had a break in at a empty house.....took the washing machine and fridge.....then come back following night for the spoons....4 spoons in total!!

I've had acouple of these scenario's - best / easiest method was out through the wall (in my case with 2 x 10mm), into 20mm black conduit, with one tee down to an earth rod, and the other leg carried on at low level horizontally to the kitchen, in through the wall to behind the sink.

There crazy some people arnt they! Not even bothed about getting a belt or anything, after the fire they ripped the pipefish out straight from the gas and water, flooded the place and left the gas blowing into the house! Good job next door could smell gas otherwise we would of had more than one burnt out house in this street
