hi there i am new to the forum so any help would be much appreciated i currently own a motorbike and have made myself a heated waistcoat it is 12v 5amp i was wondering what regulatiolns there are on me making these and selling them the only thing i can find is that it falls under low risk of a shock thanks

If the bike isn't running you won't even feel the 12V DC. Whilst the bike is running the charging circuit is active and it has rapidly pulsed DC which can be an unruly waveform, it can give you a reasonable 'buzz'. It's nothing like getting a whack from a 230v supply but if it's wet and you're halfway round a corner you probably wouldn't enjoy it very much.

Nothing on a bike battery or charging circuit is electrically lethal or even close to it. You might get killed by the fumes and flames if there's ever a fire but you won't die from electrocution. Defibrillation is about the energy delivered (Joules), there's a 50 milliamp rule of thumb at main supply voltage but the figure wouldn't apply at motorcycle voltages.

have i just seen a bunch of idiot posts? 12 volts? a s tingle? charging voltage is abt 14.2 vdc initially
its ridicluous i actually respected this board now, as i suspected all along no fcker knows f/all

what a pile of crap

Milwaukee already make a safe version that has I dare say been thoroughly tested!
and it's not as expensive as you think. May not be a motorbike jacket but I'm sure you could wear something over the top if its just warmth you want.
