Re: Is there a temporary solution that we can buy to remove/reduce the noise - for example something we can use in-line between the 240v socket and laptop that will removed this type of noise?

I am researching double electrostatically screened/shielded 1 to 1 mains isolating transformer to interpose between the socket and the laptop power supply which is why I need the power information for your laptop.

What are the types of shielded isolation transformers? - https://americas.hammondpowersolutions.com/en/resources/faq/transformer-design/shielded-isolation-transformers

The Basics of Isolation Transformers and How to Select and Use Them - https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/articles/the-basics-of-isolation-transformers-and-how-to-select-and-use-them

Don't rush out and buy one just yet unless you have bucket loads of money - let me consider what you have recently said first.

A nudge/bag. What is power consumption of your laptop which has the interference?

And I would install the missing ferrite choke on the raymarine power leads.
Hi there - reading from the laptop AC adaptor: Input-100-240V ~ 1.3A 50-60Hz. Output - 20V ⎓ 2.25A.

45 W.

Here it is - Lenovo ADLX45DLC3A Laptop Charger | softhands.co.uk - https://www.softhands.co.uk/lenovo-adlx45dlc3a-genuine-laptop-charger

Yes, we're thinking of getting that ferrite in place. It's all in a small space and very tightly wired with no slack so it might be tricky. Probably why it wasn't installed in the first place.

Thanks
Paul

Could you find out please whether and to what the earth pin of the 13Amp sockets is connected please?

Does the 240V installation include residual current detection (rcd) circuit breakers? If you look at any circuit breakers in the boat the ones ones which are rcd will have a small press to test button and an exhortation to check regularly.

Would you be prepared to buy a double wound electrostatically screened one to one ie 240 to 240V isolation transformer of about 100VA ie twice the power of your laptop. I am honing in on some suppliers to recommend to you.

Hi there -sorry I see that I've been missing messages from you because they are sometimes concealed by advertising. Perhaps it's easier if you email me directly - [email protected].

Regarding the rcds, yes the 240v system is fully protected. I'll get back to you re the 13Amp socket earth. Thanks.
