So its a 60A oven.

using diversity.
Large range double oven.13.8kw

10A +

(30% of 50A remaing) 15A

+ 5A fo socket on oven switch.

So 30A total.

Its 15m run.

S0 will a 6mm cable with 32A breaker be ok.

Iv been lookin at past posts, can not see anything about volt drop.????

looks about right to me. vd would be around 3.5 volts on 6mm at 30A ( quick estimate, not calculated exact )

The chances are, you will never see that after diversity 30A!!! A 6mm T&E cable will be more than adequate to supply a 13.8KW cooker. Remember There are elements within that cooker that cannot be utilised at the same time... That diversity formula has worked and worked well for nearly 50 odd years, it's good for cooker loads up to 15KW, and even then can be adapted for larger cooker ratings

Oh...and Yes, it will see you thru the Xmas period too!!!!... lol!!!

Robo can I just suggest, if your installaing the cable as new as you seem to be would not fitting a 10mm^ not be an idea for perhaps future proofing.

When electric instaneous showers first came onto the scene it was mostly 7kw and now we are finding the norm is 10kw+, and upgrading is now having to be done on nearly every other job.

I just wonder now where cooking appliances are going, and with gas not being available as before in many places, if future proofing by installing a 10mm^ cable might not be more advantageous to the customer.

It's only a thought mate, as there is nothing wrong with what your suggesting, just another take on things.

What do the manufacturers instructions say. I recently upgraded a 6mm cable to 10mm for a customer who was buying a new range cooker. The manufacturer stated that the supply should be 45 amps.
