Well thats dusted the 17th Edn Regs off the list hopefully. Completed the exam this morning and have to wait to Monday for results :( Confident of a good pass though. Fairly straight forward with only a couple of nasty questions that took some extra digging for answers. Top tip, learn the regs as not everything is in a logical sequence , but also take time to understand the index :)

5 weeks and counting till I start 2391 and cant wait :)

Yes, closed book for a start!!

I really don't understand how anybody can fail an open book exam, but that's just me.

Its quite easy to fail if you dont prep. My instructor has been doing it for years and basically puts it down to people who are not motovated and those that focus way too lon on a question rather that answering the easy ones first. Before they know it 2 hours is up...........Some people just go to pieces under exam conditions, Im lucky and have done a hell of a lot of exams and am used to it. :D

I am just starting to look into doing the same, doing my 17th first. I have some experiance from a couple of years working as a mate, but not done much/anything for over a year now because had to move/hard to find a mate job (was xmas when i moved, stuck in a rut now!)

After I do my 17th, what sort of jobs should I be able to apply for? will I still be classed as a mate or an improver? sorry for the noob question..
