Hey one and all.

Just a heads up to say if any of you are due to do the regs course, make sure you are signed up to do the 2382-12, and not the 2382-10 or 2382-20.
I've just ordered and run the exam myself as a guinea pig and it's all up and running to do the exam for the new green book.

Some training centres may still be waiting for confirmation from C&G (however C&G are not very good at keeping us informed) so may still be sitting the 2382-10.
If the centre search on the walled garden for the product code 2382-12, it is there to be purchased and delivered.

It is always interesting to hear what the chatter is in the electrical installation industry. The facts are, from 1st January 2012, the 2382-10 full 17th ed Wiring Regulations and the 2382-20 update from 16th ed Wiring Regulation to the 17th Ed will cease. These will be replaced by the 2382-12 full course 17th ed with 2011 amendments.
As there are no great changes due to the amendments, there is not requirement to retake the 2382-12 exam. It is the responsibility of each professional person to keep up to date with current regulations.
The wording has changed in some places, additional chapters, additional appendices’, PIR changed to condition reports better description and diagrams are the main.
In theory, you should not be permitted to take an exam at the same level again if you follow strictly City and Guilds rules
