I wonder if anyone can help...

I want to do the 17th exam (full). I have been phoning around but they all seem to want you to do the course and pay 500 quid. I am time-served, been out of the game for a while (it was the 15th when I did it!).

Does anybody know where I could just pay and sit for the exam only?

Hi, i will try to find it and you can have it for free.

I will send you a PM.

For my 17th I just bought a NICEIC 17th course manual. ÂŁ 30.00.

this book runs along side the regs, with questions at the end of each section.

I passed with about 90%.

Also i can send you a web site link of a site that has 17th and 2391 test papers on it.

send me your e-mail address and I will reply.

cheers

Dave

Does anyone know of an exam centre in Central Scotland that will take me as an external exam student. I really dont fancy paying ÂŁ200 plus, and since I did an on-line mock up, got 75% despite never having looked at any of this stuff in almost 10 years, I think I am good to go.

I really grudge having to pay money for this, despite having 20 years plus in the trade, and from what I can see not much has really changed since the 16th, never mid the 15th. But since my JIB card is expired (these rules do not apply offshore) and I can not get a job on the beach without it I find that I have no ckhoice but to pay it.

Hi Guys, I passed my 16th exam in july 2001 what course should I sit and what book do I need, I just purchased the green book.
Also does any one know of any places offering exam only at a good price?

Well I´m just south of London at the moment - but I have no problem travelling a long way if it means avoiding being ripped off 500 quid.
I'd suggest you check out your local colleges.
Sometimes they will allow you just to take the exam, it used to be arround ÂŁ30 just for an exam.
If you have trouble finding a local college, try Havering College in Romford: 01708 462801, they may be able to help?

My exam paper says at the top bs7671 June 2001. But I passed this exam in feb 2006. does this mean I can sit the update???

Just phoned my local college and was told because of the amendments they no longer do the exam only or the update course. I will have to sit the 3 day course instead. I'm really ****ed off as the company I work for has been saying for 18 months now that they would pay for it. But as it's taken so long I decided to do it myself. Does anyone know of anywhere still doing the exam only? Can it not be done online at all?
