17th edition. has my revision been in vain?

I'm taking my 17th edition exam in less than 2 weeks, i have the 17th edition red book to revise with but i got told that the green/blue book is the one to be used at present, i am totally freaking out about this. does this mean that the red book is going to be no use to me in this exam?

Hey Widdler is the green 2011 version radically different to the red 2008 version of BS 7671 and is there any requirement to take the latest exam if you have the previous 2382-10 qualification.

BTW open book or not i still use all the available time in any exam.

All is what it is is how to find your way around a book.....If the 2391 is closed book and considered a level 3 course then how the hell can an open book be considered a level 3 course...pat testing n all (i have all these by the way)..........

2382-10 has nothing to do with finding your way around a book. It's about knowing the regulations and how to apply them. The assessment requires you to refer to the book as a reference document to find the answers to some of the questions. If you were taught how to navigate the book, then like 90% of the colleges and training centres you were not taught the course properly.

If you are wanting to prove competence to amendment 1 then you would need to do the 2382-12.
There are many, many changes incorporated in amendment 1. As to weather you would require to retrain on the 2382-12, it would be completely depend on your individual working requirements TBH.

I wasn`t taught just how to "navigate the book". What a pointless exercise that would be (and a waste of my time).
I often refer to BS7671 and/or the on site guide (as i am sure many others do on here as well) but at the same time if you constantly find youself refering to "the book"....you wouldn`t get anything done...would you....

So is it a case of printing off some extra pages sticking them in the back of the brb and annotating affected regs (until your old BS 7671 falls apart anyway lol)
or
the numbering of all of the regs is now completely different so the present brb wil have no relevance. ???
