17th edition

Hi I am wondering why some colleges etc offer distance learning for the 17th edition but will not accept you as an external canditate for the exam? Is it all about making money and charging for the courses. I Live in Cambridge but cant find anywhere that will let me just sit the exam.

Distance learning is normally a con unless the are C&G accredited and can offer the exam at the end of the course. I dont know of any centre that will allow you to take the exam unless you have had their course.

The primary reason for this, is that they want to make sure you pass, as this will affect their rep with C&G.

Its all down to the number crunch. Colleges get funding based on Attainment, retention & progression.Its why they all crack on about % pass rates. If you only sit the exams your not a bum on a seat.
