Regulation 411.3.1.2

Metallic pipes entering the building having an insulating section at their entrance need not be connected to the protective equipotential bonding.

Question is what is meant by an insulation section at the entrance:

** enters in copper but then goes plastic?

**enters plastic then Copper?

Confused a little can someone shed some light.

Personally I think it is written well.

METALLIC PIPES entering - ie metal mains gas and water on the suppliers side.

ENTERING the building - ie where they go from outside the property to inside the property.

INSULATING SECTION - ie non-conductive.

So if a metallic suppliers pipe is seperated from the customers metallic pipe with a piece of plastic pipe at the point at which it enters the building or just after the meter it does not need bonding.
