Hi guys, here is my scenario. My customer has a sky dish. I am going to do a total rewire where 2 rooms downstairs will need to be ready for Sky+ and 2nd downstairs room having multi room. Then the 3 bedrooms upstairs need to be 1st fixed for freesat. Am I right in saying that the 2 downstairs rooms will need shotgun cable running back to the dish. Then the 3 bedrooms will need RG6 running back to the dish as well? Thanks guys

run two CT100 sat cables from each room back to a central distribution point.

then fit quadplex outlets in each room that requires a tv.

that gives you either sky plus / freesat in each room with Digital (freeview), FM + DAB all down two cables.

id also run CAT5 / CAT6 everywhere

its common practice on refurbs now

you dont want 10+ cables back to the dish now lol

Thanks mate. 1. what would my customer need back at the central distribution point? 2. What is the benefit of the FM + DAB on the plate. 3. If he wants just a point for freesat in the bedrooms then is it just a TV point or a sat point that needs installing.

running the two cables with quad plate covers for all occasions. its called thinking ahead :)

most customers i work for like the fact your thinking for ahead down the line in case they where to want sky + in the bedrooms for instance.

the central point would need a quadplex distribution amplifier. and your dish would need 4 cables going to it.
