1st flats with concrete ceilings

Looking at a job first fixing flats with concrete ceillings, to be lined with mf ceilling system.
How do you guys support cables in this scenario? Just clip up to concrete, or some more elaborate solution? Tray seems kind of ott, but would be a good solution. Cheers

Could use all band,you can also get upside down like c shaped clips ,drill a hole & this clip fits in,it’s plastic,& 2 sides to it,try & get pic for you.

I've just got the newer version but this one is just as good. Now I'm retiring the old one to gather dust in my garage.

Cheers guys, might end up with a combination, maybe a central spine of basket, then use the plastic clips for individual drops. Think I've seen some clips in wholsaler that just knocked into a pre drilled hole. Presumably they dont need to be metal since it will all be protected by ceilling once job is complete?

You are talking about crampets I think.

All round band is what is normally used, not sure I like it but it is very common.

Yeah, seems a bit rough, but I guess it gets the job done, quickly and cheaply...

No fixings needed just tie a brick to the cable and sling it across the metal ceiling top hat, there’s your fireproof fixing free of charge.

I worked on some luxury flats near to Vauxhall bridge.
All cables were fixed to the ceiling using knock in cable tie plugs and then cabled tied every 250mm.

If you have to support the cables in case of premature collapse in the event of a fire then use a bit of band strapping every so often in combination with the above.

Using basket etc will not make you competitive at all.

Depends upon where sockets are etc when I did some flats with concrete slab above clipped most of the ring around the perimeter on the wall above the ceiling. The main spine of wiring as Lee posted.

I've used p-clips and metal cable ties on jobs in past. Depending on size of void you'd probably need to work out if any pipe work / ducting going in same gap and try and keep your routes away from them. I've burnt through a ---- ton of sds bits doing concrete ceilings as well

Spit gun/Hiti gun, a lot quicker then drilling a hole and knocking in a cable hook, also a lot quicker then throwing up some basket as by time ducting and plumbers pipes gone in there would be hardly any room anyway.

Do you need to use metal clips,does the ceiling count as a barrier,I dint think so according to 18th.
We are going all the way back to the days of metal trunking/conduit,not a bad thing.
