Hi all, was wondering what your thoughts are on a CU upgrade....At the moment it's got 2x CU one supplying the flat and the other the heaters! Now can I install 1x 10 way split load RCD protected CU and use one side for the house and the other side for the Heaters? Taking out the live and neutral link from the other rcd and use the 2nd supply for the heTers?? So there for having two supply's in one CU???

But then what's the difference with installing 1 CU for the flat with an rcd and then another CU for the heating again with an rcd? I can't see the difference as u would treat both sides of a 10 way dual rcd as 2 separate CUs??? saves money on 2 boars??

You wouldn't install a CU for the flat with 1 RCD covering all the circuits, thats what i'm saying. Its against regs, don't know reg number of my head so can't state it.

Yes that's what I was on about lol I can't see how it breaking the regs, but still need to heater supply to go in one side as it timed! All I'm doing is making to CUs out of one split load, and then note it ??

Advised him in post 13 that he can get rcbos for about a tenner, from same site as Durham states, but still kept banging on about doing an A-Team on a standard dual RCD CU.

Why some one wants to make whats an pi55 easy job into a right bag of spanners is beyond me!

Glad to see the last 2 posts are think along the same lines as myself, as for 1 minute I thought i'd lost the plot.

I reckon the op is a little wind up anyway:90:
