2.5mm Lighting Circuit

If someone has run a 2.5mm lighting circuit spurred from a ring final on a B16 breaker, I am assuming there is no need to have a fused spur where the lighting circuit comes off the ring final?

No FCU would be required BUT it would make sense to have one if the MCB were to be changed to a 32A later

I guess it's acceptable if all of the lights meet the requirements for a 16A lighting circuit, I can't remember exactly what they entail but I think it's certain types of landholder or fittings with fuses etc.

They only have one light on it, it goes to an halogen floodlight above the garage door outside. I wasn't really happy with it but then pondered and thought actually it is ok.

My involvement was replacing the twin and earth they had feeding the garage (buried with the daffodils 100mm down) with an armoured but before I started I had a good look round the wiring in the garage and noticed the switch bushed up to a socket which was then feeding the floodlight via the 2.5mm. Was going to change it for a switched FCU.

I'd be inclined to change it for an sfcu.

Although you can have a lighting circuit up to 16A being its a RFC doesn't sit right with me As above change the switch to SFCU you will be leaving better than you found it.

I'd swap it for an sfcu, yes technically it's OK, but technically drinking a full bottle of vodka every night is OK but you wouldn't do it.... hic.

Well I would not be happy with that. Would have to spur that down with SFCU.
