Hello all !!

Situation - 100A DNO fuse in house no 1, running CU in house no 1 -
home owner wishes CU in house no 2 to be run from the same DNO fuse,
the CU in house no 2 has 3 x 6A lighting circuits and 2 x 32A ring circuits,
and they want a shower to be installed, but haven't specified the kw rating, so assume 8.5kw and 40A mcb.
What size tails should be run to house no 2?
The cable run from house to house is 10m.
25mm tails?

Thanks !!

:) :) :)

You need to fit a KMF after a Henley to feed a 16mm sub (probably needs to be SWA). Earthing requirements will dictate the rest.

Anything else you need to be spoon fed?

What size are the tails currently on house number 1? If they are 16mm then an extra 47A (approx max demand) from house number 2 is certainly pushing the limits.

Hi - thanks for all the replies! :)

Happyhippydad - I don't know what size the first house tails are, but will be investigating - am hoping they are 25mm.

Murdoch - it's cost, you're right Wozz! There are two standing charges, one for each property, and there are solar panels across both properties but only benefitting one supply.

Hawk - it will be metered from the first house, as the tails will be leaving after the meter.

Thanks, Rockingit.

I'd be happier if they weren't fitting the shower, load-wise, as the rest of the installation is pretty low on load.

Cheers guys!!

I might have got lost here, but the rotary iso is rated at 63A so 25mm armoured still wouldn't make the install satisfactory. Assuming everything...
