2 consumer units?

Hi,

Doing a re-wire for a restaurant. The premises currently has 2 Hager RCD main switch board mounted next to each other between galv trunking.

One of the consumer units used to be on a day night meter, however is now permanently live.

Is there any problem in using the 2 boards as an alternative to installing a split load board?

One thing to bear in mind is there has to be one main switch for the installation, otherwise no problem as i can see

Some people believe that the single main switch requirement can be dismissed if the boards are next to each other.
