hi guys.

right i'm doing a kitchen next week and the customer has got 2 ovens (both 3.8kW) and a induction hob (10.8kW).

The hob will be on its own circuit with a 10mm T&E supply.

As for the 2 ovens. I have the possibilty to supply both of these with a 6mm T&E but all they need is a 20A DP switch. I thought about changing it to either 4mm or 2.5mm. Whats your thoughts guys?

One of the ovens has a plug and the oven I have to put the cable in for it

if a circuits going in may as well 6mm on 32 to dual outlet plate for the ovens, or put a 16a radial in can always be used for sockets if they ever come out/ alter kitchen

6mm for the ovens, neither will ever see anywhere near 20A!! As for that hob, ...bloody ridiculous rating size. I have an 8.2 KW induction hob in Cyprus, and that's a big full size one. It has been running quite happily on a 32A RCBO with 6mm cables since installing it...

yeah its these new neff ones. massive things. rather safe than sorry tho

Apologies for hijacking the thread but got asked to look at a similar situation today...

Cable is imperial measured 7/.039 and 1/.072 (?)

Being very lazy but would this be up for supplying a 6.6Kw dual oven and a 4.1Kw hob??

Thanks, tired and lazy tonite!

Cant remember a 7/039 but can remember a 7/029.
2.5mm replaced the 7/029 with similar rating.
Next size up was 7/044 equivalent to 4mm then 7/064 equivalent to 6mm.
