Discuss 2-Port valve wiring? in the Central Heating Systems area at ElectriciansForums.net

is the neutral going to the valve(i have known a broken neutral before which shows the same problem, remember that as both oranges are connected to the switched live for boiler that you will get feed back from the other valve(90v or something even when hw is not calling.

Hmmmmm, interesting.

I have known even new valves to stick, shut the system off completely a few times and keep trying.other than that safely isloate, disconnect valve wiring in wiring centre and check your wiring from programmer to room stat then to valve.also you need to make sure that the grey has a perm 230v feed when reconnected.

Well, I’ve managed to sort my problem out. As a last resort, I removed the cover of the valve and noticed that the micro switch wasn’t operating when the paddle swung across (it seems to be operating now, very quiet!). So a few gentle taps with a screwdriver and the switch operated with the paddle, and so did the boiler! :)

Nice one si , pain when that happens and dont you always question your wiring i know i do that why i have a bauld patch due to scratching my head lol

With motorised valves I’d always question the integrity of the valve first. The most unreliable things on this earth, I hate them!

Why? What’s wrong with the glasses I’m wearing!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont be put off pal it will make you a better sparky its a whole new world in heating lol
when you call for heating at the clock that then sends the com in the stat live then when you turn the stat up you introduce your switch live which connects to the brown on the valve switching the orange and the boiler together
