Yes, you are right, if changing from fuses to RCD protection, then, yes, you are making things a lot safer, but it is still a departure from the Regs, which should not be encouraged unless there is very good reason.

Then I cannot see how you can use it for protective bonding conductors.
543.1.1 says this: "every protective conductor, other than a protective bonding conductor, shall be (I) calcualted...... The protective bonding conductor shall comply with 544."

544 then says that a minimum 10mm CSA for PME installations, in table 54.8.
