230v to 12v

Hi,new to the forum,
I bought a 12 v refrigerated unit, it was mounted on back of Tesco delivery truck running off a battery.
I now have it dismounted and I want to get it connected to the mains (230v)..
What kind of transformer do I need and how much would a job like this cost, - transformer supplied and fitted?

What power/current rating is it. Is there a rating plate on it?

Also,does it have overnight mains hook-up?

Yes it's off a sprinter, it's only a 12 ft body. There is no overnight plug.
Is it possible to put an overnight connection on this?

Oh sorry it is 12v dc..
I don't have a clue about this type of thing..

We need to know its power rating to give a suggestion 230v to 12v dc is not an issue but without knowing the load capability we cannot on a solution.

12V 100A seems a fairly high requirement for a home based system, but also pretty high for a vehicle system.
A 1.5kW 230Vac to 12Vdc power supply would not be cheap.

Can an overnight plug be connected on to a unit like this?

That is just the battery rating I suspect and the 100amps is so high because it has to last a long time like a typical car battery is 100Ah it also will have the motor inrush to contend with so needs to be able to deliver the power to start the motor without significant volts drop. What would be better information wise would be the motor rating of the compressor itself then we just need a power supply that can handle it.

You might want to contact the manufacturers and see if the optional 230v hook up is available separately.

No separate controller for it, I'll try to find out the motor rating of the compressor and see were it takes me,
