As 2330 level 3 is a stand alone qualification, and the level 2 is not required to do the level 3......
Do you think someone with a DI qualification could do the 2330 level 3 straight or would need the level 2?

As 2330 level 3 is the the route to JIB registry/approval. And of course 2330 level 2 would be the natural course to do prior to level 3.. Is there anyone out there that has done both 2330 and DI?

Was just wondering if someone with the knowledge of a DI course would need the 2 year level 2 2330 course prior to the level 3?

As it is the level 3 which opens up the industry to you for JIB registry in a manner of speaking.

Cheers

DI is a very condensed level 2.
Iv done 2330 level 2@3 17th and Part Pee and 2391.
I did Part Pee evening only 1 year along side my level 2, And doing the pair at the same time made both lot easyer.
There alot of random stuff i cant see you d ever use again from level 2 and alot you would.
BUT theres alot of under pinning knowledge as C@G say that you wont get on a DI course.
If you aced your Part Pee without being given huge hints from your lecturer, Do level 3.
A DI course arms you with enough knowledge to go house bashing(Alot of people hate that) not that you d be any good at it but you d know enough.
If you go to a GOOD college and your clued up you ll do level 3 and pass. If you payed top whack and basicly payed your threw DI you wont/or got ripped off like alot seem to(Sparkys dont get payed 150k a year)
Hope iv covered every base so we dont start a Moanathon about DI etc etc!!!

U can't do L3 without L2 to my knowledge, it's not a case of entry requirements it's the colleges discresion , u need to prove you can handle L3 before you enrol, it saves the colleges gettng bad stats if u fail

I didn't work out how the NVQ cut off for level 3 was this march, but they were still teaching level 2 at this time.
I know what your saying mate i dont think they know what there doing!
Level 3 is stand alone tho.
All the leccy quals are pardon my French but ummmmmm not harmonised to be polite.
Competent person this that and the other.
Lets have it like a licence!¬

the l3 can be taken on it`s own, but as mentioned it is at the colleges discretion. if you can prove that you can do the l3 with no issues most would let you onto it. all depends on the individual and the college/training ctr

HI all
I am doing the level 3 as stand alone qual at warrington collegiate
you can do lv2 and 3 or just lv3 but they do ask what other quals experience you have etc the tutor told me i didnt need 2330 as i have 2391 but i chose to want to learn more
because i have 2391 he said i am in as the lv3 is leading upto the 2391-10
would have liked to do ther lv2 also but not a option as the lv3 is the only course i could enrol in time for the cut off date 31.3.11 now extended until 31.7.12
C&G dont have a clue thereselves
the 2357 is not ready and i think its being altered to accomodate adult workers i believe but dont hold me to this just what i have read plus the industry so called didnt like the set up again just grapevine gossip

You can do the lv3 without having to meet any criteria but every college has there own requirements I start june 9th maybe begging them to swap me to lv2 lol by september

I have been sparking for well over 10 years and for personal reasons left it as a full time job at the time when part "P" was being introduced and only returned back to electrics in the last 3 years and my take on the subject is this. Yes you can take the level 3 course on its own if you wish to but that really is a personal decision you'll have to make. Despite my extensive experience I decided to enroll for both L2 &L3 courses as I did not want a gap in my knowledge and the good news is that good 20% of information I was imparted to I did not know (though this was mainly theoretical parts and the course I believe is 50% practical and 50% theory). The same could also be the bad news as L2 on it's own cost me ÂŁ4000 and to be honest I did get the odd moments when I'd ask myself as to what I's doing there as nearly always I's the first one to finish the practical exercises and would wander around helping others most of the other time. I now wish I'd completed my apprentice and have become a spark the traditional way but as they say no point crying over spilt milk. I am not sure if you've passed the enrollment date for the L2 and L3 courses as my understanding is that you'd had to have been registered by the end of March this year and once registered you'd have a couple of years to complete the courses. All the best with whatever you choose with what's available.

Yes I enrolled in a money grabbing scheme like a lot of others out there, but completed the DI, 2382, well versed in 2392 which im going on in two weeks and have the 2377 lined up for August so was looking at giving the 2330 a shot in September. The college local to me is currently offering for the level 3 ÂŁ970 over a year part time tuition (evenings) and the obvious benefits are that i will become far more employable with that level 3 course than all the others put together... and of course the best stepping stone for further courses.

Without sounding up myself do you think the knowledge from the courses i will have completed by September (DI,2382,2392,2377) will stand me in good stead for the level 3 or will I need the knowledge of the level 2?
I dont want to wing it, and i dont want to sit a two year course (level 2) when I may be covering old ground when In essence is a foundation course to the level 3, which is recognised in the industry and will open a lot af doors for me.

As always any advice is appreciated and thanks to all your comments so far
