2365 204 practical exam

Hiya Chris, im there on Monday for practical so ill ask our tutor

Im same as you mate, 2365 level 2 first year ( 2 evenings per week ) and as far as I know our second year is all theory, no practical at all which is strange

We definitely have our exam this year though, we all got a letter a few weeks ago with dates, mines on the 26th June

and also a photo of me carrying out safe isolation on single and 3 phase

Ive also had to complete a method statement for safe isolation of a 3 phase circuit

All that is part of the 204 exam, so basically on the day of the exam i just have to wire up and test within 3 hours

Chris I've had a word tonight with the owner and you have the ok to jump on this job for a day. The head sparky company have let me bring you along, it also opens a door for you and you can make a local contact for a good firm to work for..... one step at a time mate.

Looks like I'm the supervising spark when he is not on site so there may be other opportunities for you and Matt. Its 15 apartment blocks first and 2nd fix over 5 weeks. You'll need PPE etc. If you dont have it, I'll get it for you.

That is strange, I'm glad my college isn't making it's do it this year, all we are doing this year is working through a booklet,

Lighting and sockets using
Conduit
Single
T&E
3 core
Radial
Ring circuit
Loop in
Loop out
Then wiring a fluorescent fitting, also using 3 core for the strappers
Then some more stuff


My tutor said by the time we do the board in your picture we will of done most of what's on it twice

I don't get Why for me ill of done a year practical then year 2 more practical doing the board for the exam then the test at the end of year 2

Yet u are doing the exam straight away and no practical in year 2, that lesson it's meant to be the practical lesson, it's the other lesson that's the theory

Have u worked all the way through the booklet?

Walked away from my 204 today with a distinction, now I just need to pass my 202 and I will be a happy chappy.

Passed the 202 last night, didn't think I'd passed though, we all said things can't up that we hadn't been shown how to work out, 6 questions on star delta so get that down and u should be good

How on earth did u do all the booklet and the full board in that amount of time?
Even the ones that started on time haven't done the booklet, the furthest person is just doing a fluorescent light now

It's confirmed the stuff in your picture will be year 2 level 2 for me

I wasnt happy with the setup to be honest, we were just left to go through our booklet as we wished and at our own pace.

Would have been much better to do each task together as a class, and be shown how to get on first, but unfortunately that didnt happen

That board contains all our metal work that we have done throughout the year ( we kept them all to put on our board instead of doing them again ), the rest was already fixed up by the tutors

Well done on the 202 mate ! Easier / harder than you thought ?

All the class said the same thing and that was that the test had stuff we had not been shown how to work out and we all had about 6 questions on star delta so make sure u know that well, I personally thought I had failed because I only had about 15 questions that I was sure I knew, the others was just process of elimination and the odd guess, least it's done now, it's the hardest exam of the year too

Usual pass percentage is around 60%

I was thinking 40 but not back to college for another 2 weeks so cant confirm with tutor

Even though im on a different course your looking at easily 30 maybe 40.
