Does anyone know the City & Guilds pass mark for the above.
I have just failed with a mark 80% and it seems I was over 10% off, that would mean I have to get over 90%.
I seems a bit high to me.....

Afaik The pass mark is 80% but the questions cover several different areas, like maybe 6 or so (selection & erection, special locations etc) and you need to get above 80% in all areas.

So if you get 100% in say 5 areas but 70% in the 6th you fail. even if your overall score is above 80%.

If you get some practice navigating the regs book and do alot of past papers so you understand what they are asking and the wording you will be ok.

As soon as everyone finishes within 10-15 mins you will get your result and printout

Not for me, i sat mine last wednesday. Was told we would not get the results there and then. They told us to ring up on friday to find out if we passed.
I called on the friday and was told i had passed and i would receive the cert in the post.

No worries, i think it may depend on where you sit it as there was 8 of us doing it aty the same place which included the 10 week, one evening a week course then the exam. A lot of us was under the impression (from speaking to different people) that we would not get the result there and then but a few were adamant that we would.
It just seems that for a computer based multi choice test its not too much to ask for the results within a few minutes.
There was two reasons we were told we wouldnt get them on the day 1 is more understandable than the other but i dont buy either to be honest. they were...
1. The online test is checked by someone in America (I doubt that highly as its City & Guilds)
2. They will evaluate any questions that may continually be answered wrong to ensure that the question is not wrong (I would have hoped they would ensure that the question is right before even issuing the exam)

The online gola is carried out with an administrator console and 'x' amount of units that run the administrator software that you do the exam on. You download the exam to the admin server and verify and unlock the exams. The main admin computer will then be connected via a switch to the computers running the administrator exam programs. You can then from each console, log in to do the exam. On completion the software submits the file back to the admin computer running as the server.

The server software will then be able to display immediately weather the results are pass or fail. The results can be displayed, emailed and/or printed. The admin computer then uploads the results to C&G via t'interweb and you get your pretty little cert sent out to the address registered with C&G for your enrolment number.

Its the 2382. 10. I did an online course thru niceic then went to a local gola accredited training centre to sit the test. I was able to get the results downloaded immediately after.
What threw me was the online course mock exam you only had to get 80% in total to pass, which I thought would have been set higher than the gola exam so expected the pass mark to be 65% or there abouts. After talking with the niceic training officer he thought this as well, hence them setting there mock at 80%.
