looking for info on 2391 course any advice greatly appreciated
i am 17th edition electrician 9 years in trade wide range of experience but not so much in the testing area so not sure what im letting myself in for regarding this course.

thanks guys

The pass rate was relatively low, even for practicing experienced sparks, when I did it.
I think it's due to change format soon if it hasn't already.
In your case probably a case of brushing up on the theory and possibly unlearning some of the way you currently test to conform with the way they want it done for the exam.
Obviously I have no Idea how you test, just going from my own experience and chatting to trainers at the time.
2 parts theory and practical.
Neither were horrendous. From my experience it was more difficult trying to forget and relearn.

Hope this helps a little

Overall it was challenging but very worthwhile and rewarding.

lol so would you agree in theory if you pay attention to the course and book crunch coming upto test you should pass ,being a electrician.

as i know a tiler who done this course and passed :s

i thought it was a requirement to be qualified electrician to do this course

It's hard work though not like the regs exam.
If you already know how to test the practical is just a case of learning how to test the way they want it done for the exam.
The theory is learning, brushing up, re-learning a wide subject area for a much smaller number of questions.

There are much more knowledgeable folks on here than me. Hopefully some of the trainers and assessors etc will give you a better idea.

I have read that the 2391 is no longer , but also still see it advertised.
Can you advise on the difference with 2391-2394 2395.
Anyone any experience with these courses ??

I'm doing the 2391 now, Got an exam in December. But be aware it is changing so if you can get on the course now is the time to do it. You need the 17th edition regs green edition and the guidance note 3 green edition.

The practical exam was easy but the written is a night mare if I'm honest,I failed it in July and I'm taking a re sit in December. Hopefully I will pass it this time. It didn't help the tutor telling us it was still the red edition regs book and red guidance note 3 but can't totally blame it on that after all they have only moved the regs numbers around just to confuse everyone.
