As it says, but now the learning begins. Got to get it into my head for exams in a couple of weeks. Lots to learn etc.

Day 4 was today. Recap over what we had done, any questions session, and then onto the previous test papers.

I looked at 4, and i have about 10 others as well. There is a pattern, certain questions always crop up, but worded different. The biggest problem i have is not reading the question properly in part B, and then not putting all the relevant info in the answer to get full marks. There were a couple of questions that i didn't answer because i didnt have a clue. But the ones i did answer i got right, because i didn't take all the info from the question i lost marks for not putting it all down, the annoying thing was i knew what the rest of the answer was. It is typical C&G, you really do have to study the question, grasp what they want you to say, and say it all. The part A section i managed to get 46 out of 60 without the book and within time:D, so something has gone in, a few others i answered using the wrong words, but i knew what i meant, and so would the marker, but they make the rules not me, so they are wrong.

One poor sod on the course hasn't taken any of it in, he has really struggled.
Cheers..........Howard

It is a lot to digest in 4 days, like you say, the real learning has to take place between now and the exam.

I think many candidates shut the books after the course and regret it on results day!

Good luck for the exam!

well done mate hopefully you'll pass it. I got my 2392 exams in 2 weeks and then i'll be attempting that dreaded course. I hear that the 2391 Exam Success book is a real help on passing the course so im gonna buy that before I start the 2391 (I got GN3 and Kitchers Test & Inspect book)

Good luck to you as well.

2391 is not to be dreaded, i found it very interesting and the time has flown by. I also find the books interesting as well, so the reading is easy. The exam success book is excellent and worth every penny, without it i wouldn't have done anywhere near as well as i did on the previous test papers.

Cheers.........Howard

ah Cheers mate my tutor says that the 2392 is basically 70% of the 2391 so im guessing it's that other 30% thats the real tough bit Anyways wont be starting it till march I think so i'll have some time to get into some past papers etc.

You are probably right. The only difference that i have been told is that 2391 covers 3 phase 2392 don't, and when all said and done the only difference for testing purposes is a few more tests and 2 more wires.

2392 is more initial verification based whereas 2391 is more periodic inspection based.

I've done the 2392 and it's also all multiple choice answers. For 2391 you also have some full text answers to provide for some of the questions. As stated only single phase as well.

Yes, 2391 is full closed book written, a good exam that hasn't dumbed down over the years, I always say 2382 checks if you can read a book, 2391 checks if you understand it...

Yep, I must say the timing is tight for both practical and written. Lots of pedantic questions on the written.

Best of luck.

also finished mine too, theory exam has now been moved to the 10th of march though, so gives me a month to revise (or forget it all!!!)
Going through the test papers it seems the hardest part of the exam is breaking the questions down and interpreting them correctly. Its half the battle understanding what some of the questions are asking for.

Kitchers a good book but check it against GN3 as there's quite a few errors in this book, I was struggling to understand some of the worked examples, as he used factors without saying why or what they were ,showed it to our lecturer and he said it had so many mistakes i'd do better binning it!
anyhow something was right, passed first time, questions were'nt too bad, but i have to say i did nothing but read everynight !
