Well just had my 2391 practical and passed :D well chuffed for the time being there is still a little written exam to do yet :(

Also wanted to thank all the guys on the forum who have answered all of my questions and doubts I had

I am sure all will be okay, remember to give everything a little tug.


If some of the terminations are loose then it's likely that are not one of the preinstalled 'faults'. It's probably just that they are loose from various candidates fiddling around.

If one of the faults you identify is a loose connection I would recommend you carry on looking for a little while to make sure you haven't missed anything else.

hi mate ,
what things should i be looking for things like
earthing conductor to small and connected correctly
line and neutral tails correct size and correctly connected ie polarity
rating of protective devices
breaking capacity of protective devices
correct cable sizes and type
single pole fuses/cbs, and switches in line only
correct sequence of L,N,E maintained
IP rating of dis board
fuse bases missing
labelling,identification of circuits
no damage
loose terminals
swa earthed
conductors and sheathing terminated in enclosures
identification of conductors ie brown on sw/lines:confused:
please feel free to add more or correct me on any i have wrong

Got this exam too and am looking for some pointers.Do you lock off main switch during pir or circuits individually in exam conditions?On single phase d.b do you test rcd circuits seperatly?On 3 phase d.b do you test as a whole for IR TEST minus distribution circuit and 3phase socket outlet?Any help is appreciated.Cheers!
