hi can anybody tell me if in the 2391 practical if the incoming neutral conductor needs to be disconnected in the insulation and resistance test and if so does it require to be taped when disconnected ta unsure if the main isolator is at/p+ n or just a t/p isolator

Just done mine there was a link for the earth and neutral and for the neutral earth insulation test you had to remove link, test, then put link back in place

Hiya pal,

The incoming neutral conductor doesn't need to be disconnected - your main incoming switch is open therefore breaking the neutral.
I would get used to calling it an 'insulation resistance' test and miss out the 'and' inbetween - picky markers on the written exam may deduct the odd mark. And believe me, every mark is absolutely vital in that exam !

Check the clearance between the back panel and/or terminal cover that you've removed. Look for small burn marks.
